About this event
The fair opens on Friday evening with a lantern walk for children, followed by live rock and pop covers from the band “Boys of 69” inside the festival tent. Saturday’s main attractions are the raising of the freshly cut Kerbebaum (fair tree) by hand – a sight that always draws a crowd – and the ceremonial barrel tapping, one of the most down‑to‑earth moments of the whole weekend. Later, “PARTYE X PRESS” keeps the tent buzzing with party anthems and dance‑floor favourites, and anyone who feels like it can join the Kerbetanz. Sunday mixes reflection with sociability: an ecumenical service led by pastor Herbert Lüdtke and pastoral worker Christof Reusch brings worshippers together under the canvas, after which bingo, coffee and home‑baked cakes take over. In the afternoon the Stierstadt volunteer fire brigade brass band delivers the kind of oompah and light classical tunes that make everybody sway along. Monday and Tuesday ease the fair out with more live music, a big tombola draw, and the Family Day, when all the rides – from the little merry‑go‑round to the XXL bumper cars – run at reduced prices. Any time hunger strikes, there are almond roasters, crêpe stands, snack bars, and naturally a fresh Äppelwoi or beer. What makes Steinbacher Kerb special is its blend of old‑school custom, live music, and a genuine neighbourhood feel. Set on St.-Avertin-Platz right next to the community centre, it attracts lifelong locals and visitors from the surrounding Taunus villages alike, and by the second day everybody seems to know each other.
