Step inside the imposing high bunker on Friedberger Anlage, a relic of the Second World War built on the ruins of Frankfurt's largest synagogue. Today, the bunker hosts several permanent exhibitions, including 'Ostend: A View of a Jewish Quarter' by the Jewish Museum Frankfurt and displays by the 9 November Initiative. Explore the story of this vibrant Jewish neighbourhood, virtual reconstructions of synagogues, and personal accounts from the Nazi era. Guided tours are offered monthly, and the cold, raw interior makes for a particularly immersive experience. Warm clothing is advised.
