Naxos Hallenkonzerte e.V.
About this event
Artist duo Judith Schaefer and Ramón Jeronimo Wirtz turn their gaze onto the Naxoshalle itself. They have collected video footage from inside the hall—theatre rehearsals, social projects, backstage routines, and everyday encounters—layering them into a visual exploration of a space that is constantly being reused and reimagined. The frame of reference is Michel Foucault's idea of the heterotopia: a real place that mirrors, distorts, and questions the order of society. The Naxoshalle, a former factory hall now run as a collectively organised production house, becomes a kind of garden where different times, activities, and perspectives coexist. The installation makes visible how the hall transforms through the people who work and perform there, and it asks who gets to use such a space and whose labour remains unseen. The opening includes a reading. Afterwards, the installation stays open one hour before each scheduled performance in the house—so you can easily combine it with a theatre piece, concert, or talk. The work is part of a longer research project that will culminate in a live performance in April 2027. You walk through at your own pace. It’s a quiet, reflective experience suited to anyone curious about the hidden layers of a familiar Frankfurt creative hub.
