Walking to the Moon

About this event

Rocko Schamoni, the Hamburg-based author, musician, and entertainer, brings his new album to the stage in an intimate concert reading. The record channels a 1970s spa orchestra, mingling soul, French chanson, and the mood of an obscure Italian film score. He performs it live with a small band and the Orchester Mirage, interspersing the songs with readings of new, mostly unpublished stories that dissect the absurdity of everyday life with deadpan humour. Fans of his bestselling novels „Dorfpunks“ and „Große Freiheit“ will recognise his laconic, sideways glance at the world; long-time followers can also expect a few of his classic hits from a career that stretches from the legendary Golden Pudel Club to sold-out halls. The evening is held in German, seated, and runs about 90 minutes—a laid-back blend of chanson and sharp-witted storytelling.
