Mireille Mathieu: Goodbye my Love Goodbye – Farewell Tour

About this event

Over six decades, Mireille Mathieu has recorded more than 1,200 songs and become one of the defining voices of French chanson. She is instantly recognisable by her signature bob and a clear, penetrating voice that suits sweeping ballads as well as lighter, melodic numbers. Marking her 80th birthday, she is now taking her final bow with a farewell tour that brings together the highlights of an extraordinary career. Mathieu has always had a special bond with her German fans and regularly performed German-language songs alongside her French repertoire. In Frankfurt, that means you can expect well-loved German titles like “Hinter den Kulissen von Paris”, “Akropolis Adieu” and “An einem Sonntag in Avignon” woven into an evening that spans early chansons and international hits. The Großer Saal of the Alte Oper, with its neo-Renaissance grandeur and warm acoustics, gives the whole performance a dignified but intimate feel.
