The Hessisches Landesjugendjazzorchester (Hessen State Youth Jazz Orchestra) celebrates the release of its new album Warped World with a live concert in the Clara Schumann Saal. Under the baton of Ed Partyka, the orchestra’s Kicks & Sticks big band and Kicks-Voices vocal ensemble deliver a programme that moves between punchy horn arrangements, tight vocal harmonies, and expressive solos. The repertoire centres on fresh works by Kira Linn, Sammy Wahlandt, and Partyka himself – contemporary big-band jazz that feels polished yet never academic.
