Song Slam Frankfurt Grand Final

About this event

At the grand final of the Frankfurt Song Slam, six winners from the past season compete against each other with their own songs. The audience acts as the jury: a preliminary round is judged by a public panel, and in the final, only applause decides who becomes champion. The musical spectrum is as wide open as the instrumentation. Singer-songwriters of every style – from introspective indie folk and groovy pop to light-footed chanson, acoustic rock, punk, rap, and soul – bring their own compositions to the stage. Everything must be live and handmade; backing tracks and playbacks are not allowed. The evening is hosted by slam pioneers Dirk Hülstrunk and Jürgen Klumpe in cooperation with Kulturnetz Frankfurt e.V. The atmosphere at the Romanfabrik is intimate and immediate: you can come with friends or on your own, soak up the contest, and get swept along when the audience lifts its scoring paddles and, at the end, cheers loudly.
