This concert isn't a DJ set with casual orchestral backing – it's a genuine conversation. The Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt, led by artistic director and conductor Jens Troester, is a crossover-savvy ensemble that has shared stages with Robbie Williams, David Garrett, and José Carreras. For this night they trade their usual repertoire for bespoke arrangements of trance and techno anthems, written to put sweeping strings, brass, and atmospheric pads at the centre. The beats from the DJ booth don't fight the orchestra; they charge its classical body with club-bred energy. Two figures who helped shape Frankfurt's electronic music are at the decks. TALLA 2XLC launched the legendary Technoclub and spent decades crafting the melodic, driving trance sound that still defines peak-time floors. Opposite him, YORK – the alias of producer Torsten Stenzel – brings a softer, atmospheric touch that floats between trance, ambient, and electronica, best known for the guitar-driven summer classic “On the Beach.” Neither tries to turn the orchestra into a backing track; instead, they pass cues back and forth, letting the conductor pick up where a drop leaves off. Inside the Jahrhunderthalle, the fusion of symphonic might and club energy comes with a light production that turns the room into a shifting canvas. You sit, often in cinema-like clarity, as melodies that soundtracked a generation of dance floors slowly unfurl through a full string section. It's a night that meets both the melodic lover of large-scale arrangements and the person who still gets goosebumps from a well-timed trance breakdown.
