About this event
Dutch band De Staat have been welding industrial grooves, distorted riffs, electronic tangents, and pop hooks into their own strain of art rock for nearly 25 years. The quintet returns from a two-year silence with a self-titled album and a stage show that turns sharp social commentary – songs like ‘KITTY KITTY’ pick apart political echo chambers – into something you can't help but move to. The Saal at Mousonturm is set up standing-room only, so the audience is pressed right up against the band, drven by pounding bass lines and stop-on-a-dime rhyhm changes. Expect a sweaty, high-energy night that pulls from their whole catalogue, balancing the bruising with the catchy and never letting the momentum sag.
