Glenn Miller Orchestra – Swing Forever

About this event

The Glenn Miller Orchestra, a big band devoted to the swing era, brings its 2026/27 programme to Frankfurt’s Alte Oper. Under the direction of Uli Plettendorff, thirteen brass players and a rhythm section create the unmistakable sound of the 1930s and 40s – lush reed sections, crisp brass and driving swing rhythms. The band singer and the four-part vocal group ‘Moonlight Serenaders’ add period‑style highlights. Standards like ‘In the Mood’, ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’ and ‘Tuxedo Junction’ are on the set list. Bandleader Plettendorff makes a point of telling the audience that anyone who feels like it can get up and dance, so the Großer Saal often turns into an informal dance floor. The show runs about two and a half hours including a break, making for a cheerful evening of live music.
