Die Dramatische Bühne
About this event
Die Dramatische Bühne brings Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to the open-air stage in Grüneburgpark with a twist: the audience decides how the story ends. Before key moments — whether the lovers stay together, whether Mercutio or Tybalt dies — the spectators vote, pushing the play toward comedy or tragedy each night. The result is a fast, funny, and sometimes melancholic evening that feels more like a live social experiment than a dusty tragedy. The performance mixes period flair with a playful spirit. Actors sing, cross swords, and break the fourth wall, treating the park audience as co-writers of the drama. Because the vote makes every evening different, even people who have seen the play before will experience something new. Bring a blanket or a picnic and settle in for an outdoor theatre night where the story never quite follows the same path twice.
