Hochheim Autumn Fair

Hochheim Autumn Fair is a five‑day folk festival that has been held at the Weiher grounds in Hochheim for over 500 years. Across 70,000 square metres you’ll find around 700 stalls and rides: a traditional flea‑market‑style Krammarkt, craft and bric‑à‑brac sellers, a mega Ferris wheel (the 45‑metre “Sonnenrad”), thrill rides and classic carousels, plus a large livestock show featuring horses, cattle, sheep, goats and small animals. A historical section brings old‑world crafts to life, while a trade‑fair tent showcases home, garden, health and tourism novelties. About 70 food stands serve up bratwurst, roasted almonds, candy floss and other fairground staples, and numerous stands pour Hochheim’s own wine, mulled wine and beer. Tuesday is Family Day: many rides and food stalls offer reduced prices, and the big closing fireworks at 7 pm are deliberately early so young children can enjoy the show. Throughout the run there are a carousel for little ones, pony rides and a petting zoo. Entry is free, the atmosphere is lively and spans all generations – a genuine community festival that draws half a million visitors from across the Rhine‑Main region every year.
