About this event
Three friends – Naömi, Waltor and Richord – meet at a railway station, determined to finally leave Germany. But the network is bad, the tickets won’t download, the announcements are garbled and the place feels abandoned. A helpful conductor appears, but can they trust him? Writer-director Bonn Park, whose previous Frankfurt production “They Them Okocha” was nominated for the Mülheim Drama Prize, turns this premise into an intimate, nightmarish chamber play. The evening shuttles skilfully between shivers and laughter: a biting grotesque that uses horror-movie tropes to dissect ‘Made in Germany’ panic, all while remaining poetic and tender. Sina Manthey’s set and costumes, together with Ben Roessler’s music, intensify the stifling mood. You sit up close in the Kammerspiele, riding an 80‑minute rollercoaster with no interval. The play is in German, but no prior knowledge is needed – just a taste for theatre that blends dark humour, horror elements and sharp social commentary. It’s a strong choice for anyone who enjoys contemporary satire with a nervous thrill.
