The Trial

About this event

Based on Franz Kafka's classic novel, this play follows Josef K., a bank officer who is arrested one morning without knowing why. Despite being allowed to go about his daily life, K. becomes increasingly obsessed with understanding the charges against him. He encounters a mysterious, inaccessible court that operates out of attic offices in run-down tenements, and women connected to the court exert a strange erotic pull on him. As the invisible trial slowly consumes his life, the boundary between reality and nightmare blurs, leading to a shocking conclusion on the eve of his 31st birthday where he accepts a verdict he never heard. The performance brings Kafka's surreal and oppressive world to the stage.
