This multimedia drama by Die Dramatische Bühne traces the painter Vincent van Gogh through the final, most intense chapter of his life. Live performance alternates with large‑scale projections: works like *The Starry Night*, *Café Terrace at Night* and *Sunflowers* come alive and reflect Vincent’s inner turmoil. On stage the audience meets his rival Gauguin, his doomed love for the prostitute Sien, and the demons that drive him into the asylum and finally to his end. The production works with feverish, sometimes grotesque scenes, all while staying close to the documented letters between Vincent and his brother Theo. It is performed in the intimate Exzess-Halle in Bockenheim, close to the audience and without heavy machinery – instead relying on a dense atmosphere that lets the boundaries between art and madness blur. The evening is staged in German.
