Belgian singer, pianist and composer Caroll Vanwelden recasts Shakespeare’s sonnets as a modern, groove-driven performance. Together with Dominique Vantomme (keyboards, electronics) and Jean-François Assy (cello, electronics) she builds a cinematic sound-world blending jazz, pop and electro-pop. Vanwelden is known for bridging jazz and poetry: her catalogue spans fresh takes on jazz standards and the Brazilian-inflected album “Portraits of Brazil”.
