Caro Trischler inhabits that gentle, insistent space where folk, jazz and Brazilian music meet. With predominantly English and Portuguese lyrics, she moves between cherished bossa nova standards by João Gilberto and Elis Regina and her own compositions, which carry a similar air of quiet conviction. Her voice is the centrepiece — warm, clear and unhurried — supported by Ulf Kleiner's Rhodes and keys (known for his work with DePhazz and Fola Dada) and the brush-tip drumming of Max Jentzen. Both Kleiner and Jentzen teach at the Mainz University of Music, and their interplay feels more like a conversation than a backing band. The evening gains its character from the blend of Joni Mitchell-esque singer-songwriter folk, intimate Brazilian saudade and jazz-hued harmony, with every song given room to breathe. The trio draws from Trischler's recent album "When You Know You Know" (2025) as well as older favourites from "North e Sul", an album she built with Kleiner by collecting songs they simply loved. Expect an evening that is calm, melodic and full of detail — ideal for anyone who enjoys acoustic-leaning music that doesn't need volume to make an impact.
