About this event
This evening at the Klingspor Museum examines how texts and books open up spaces for alternative ways of living – a conversation about intimacy, desire, and power. Tia Morgen, born in 1991, is an author and director who reads from her texts and radio plays, which explore the ambivalences of human closeness with stark linguistic clarity. Her audio drama “NIXE” (2025) is a striking example of her work on the edges between desire and loss of control. Alongside her sits Daniela Seel, poet, translator, and publisher of the independent press kookbooks, which she co-founded in 2003 as a “laboratory for poetry as a way of life.” Seel brings the perspective of a writer who understands the book not merely as a literary work but as a social object and a discursive space. Moderated by Holm-Uwe Burgemann, the audience is invited to a participative stage conversation – not a passive reading, but a lively exchange where those present can ask questions and join the thinking. The evening is part of the “Text Matters. Matters of Text” festival, which is dedicated to the materiality of language and this year asks about the social role of the book under the motto “A book is a series of rooms.” After the event, the book bar invites you to linger with cold drinks and conversations.
