About this event
For two and a half weeks, venues across Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Offenbach and Wiesbaden host contemporary dance works that ask how democracy can be felt as a bodily practice. The spotlight rests on Brazilian choreographer Lia Rodrigues, known for fusing art with social commitment at the Maré arts centre in Rio; her pieces 'Borda' and 'Encantados' appear alongside works by Ali Charhour, Cherish Menzo and a dozen other international artists. The programme moves between intimate solos and large-scale ensembles, often drawing on the movement languages of street dance, ballet and experimental theatre. Each evening is accompanied by warm-ups, post-show talks and DJ parties, making the festival as much a meeting point as a stage.
