About this event
The WORTMELDUNGEN Long Reading Night brings ten shortlisted authors of the Förderpreis competition to the stage. Their critical short texts were written in response to prize winner Ivna Žic’s prompt “Die Zeit in die Hand nehmen” – how does one write against a present that leaves little room for shaping one’s own time? Angry and funny, quiet and rapid, the texts circle farewells, departures, overwhelm and resistance. Throughout the evening, moderator Malu Schrader talks with the emerging writers about their work. At the end, the jury announces the three Förderpreis winners. Live accompaniment by students of the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and pianist Günter Lehr. Admission free, registration requested. The event is held in German.
