Under Cover

About this event

Ulrike Markus works with inflated textile bodies, fragile glass, ceramic, and metal to build room-filling installations that often spring to life through kinetic elements. Her pieces read as metaphors for physical experience and the often-hidden power dynamics between individuals. In “Under Cover” she fills the Kutscherhaus with heavy textile organisms and delicate glass objects that push into every corner. Reliefs with abstract, pore-like wax surfaces probe the body's interior and, figuratively, ask what it means to be permeable. The exhibition casts a critical eye on unfiltered exchange, community, retreat, discomfort, and closeness – a sensory walk through forms that blur the line between inside and out.
