Naxos Hallenkonzerte e.V.
About this event
For this 103rd Naxos Hallenkonzert, the synthesizer trio Lange//Berweck//Lorenz picks up the thread of live-played 1980s electronics and pulls it into the present. Their programme traces almost a century of electronic music: from Johanna Magdalena Beyer’s visionary graphic notation of 1933, transcribed for synthesisers, to Bernard Parmegiani’s tape pieces and freshly commissioned works. Florian Zwißler stages a droll race between performer and machine in “Mäßig schnelle Achtel”, while Julia Mihály weaves everyday sounds and sonified biodata from houseplants into a delicate soundscape. Annette Schmucki’s “Repeat One” cycle peels apart pop memories and sends them looping back to their instrumental roots. A world premiere of a new piece by Zwißler rounds out the evening. The hall is unrenovated and unheated – a raw industrial shell that intensifies the focused, almost archaeological coldness of the sounds. This is a seated concert, not a club night: an acoustic laboratory where listening itself becomes the event.
