Exchange LAB: Intimacy Choreography in Dance

The Exchange LAB by CLOSER WITH CONSENT brings together intimacy choreographers, dancers, choreographers, and dance educators for an intensive three-day programme at Crespo Haus Frankfurt. Over lectures, hands-on workshops, and small-group exchange formats, participants dive into the practice of Intimacy Choreography (IC) in contemporary dance – from its current landscape and dance-specific development to consent-forward pedagogy. Accessibility is a core thread throughout, with dedicated sessions on Saturday afternoon (held in German) focusing on Consent & Access. Confirmed speakers include intimacy choreographers and dance pedagogues Zwoisy Maers-Clarke, Birte Opitz, and Nicole Perry, who will share insight from their work. The lab is structured to encourage open dialogue and professional networking, with the majority of sessions conducted in English; German whisper interpretation is available, as is German Sign Language (DGS) interpretation. An Access Friend can assist with orientation and accompaniment. The venue is wheelchair-accessible via elevator and has an accessible restroom. Participation is free, but spaces are limited and registration is required by 15 October 2026.
