The story follows Carl Bischoff on a mysterious pilgrimage from Berlin into the heart of Central Asia, drawn by a woman who claims to be the daughter of a Kazakh shaman. With stops in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, the Curonian Spit and the frozen steppe of Kazakhstan, Seiler weaves a tale of love, fate and possible conspiracy.
