About this event
For three months, Susanne Bürner, Annette Kelm, Alexandra Leykauf, and Ines Kaag lived and worked at Glenkeen Garden, a wild landscape park on the coast of West Cork. It rained almost without pause – the kind of weather that drives people indoors, but also into the community halls and car boot sales that punctuate Irish rural life. The regular Sunday boot sale became a ritual for the group, a gathering where objects, stories, and neighbours mix. Back in Dublin, they have turned the Goethe-Institut’s Return Gallery into a car boot of its own. Their works lean against walls, cluster on imagined tabletops, and find each other like the wares at a riverside stall, shaped by the damp air and the particular companionship of a wet Irish season. A second iteration of the show at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen brings the project close to Glenkeen Garden itself. The exhibition is part of ‘The Glenkeen Variations’, a series that translates the remote residency experience into public encounters.
