Michael Hofmann: Pferd und Lerche

About this event

Poet and translator Michael Hofmann, winner of the International Booker Prize for his translation of Jenny Erpenbeck's 'Kairos', presents his latest collection of poems 'Pferd und Lerche' (Horse and Lark). His work, written in English and now translated into German by Marcel Beyer and Jan Wagner, blends intimacy with worldliness, sharp wit and surprising sensitivity. The three poets will read and then discuss the art of translation, Hofmann's journey between languages, and the new collection. The event is hybrid – attend in person at the Literaturhaus or tune in via livestream.
