Simon Reynolds, the British music journalist behind the essential "Rip It Up and Start Again" on the post-punk era, reads from his new book "Still in a Dream". In it, he offers a deeply personal account of the last great flowering of analogue music culture, when vinyl and magazines were rituals. The book revolves around the explosion of noise pop, shoegaze, slacker rock and grunge – from My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth to the Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Dinosaur Jr., Pixies, Nirvana and many more. The reading delivers no loud music but a focused, intimate live experience in Mousonturm's Studio 1. Reynolds, who was there as a magazine writer in the 80s and gave many movements their names, reads in English and invites the audience to relive an era when music was tangible.
