About this event

Eva Menasse, one of Germany's most acclaimed authors, reads from and discusses her latest novel 'Alleinruhelage' (KiWi). The story follows a woman who inherits a weekend house after the end of her marriage and decides to renovate it as a fresh start. The renovation unearths memories and insights, and as a Viennese outsider she reflects on German-German history and the pitfalls of belonging. The evening, moderated by Andreas Platthaus (F.A.Z.), explores themes of foreignness, home, and the art of letting go.
