Joachim Sauer, who has deliberately kept a low public profile for decades, opens up about his life in his autobiography “Mein richtiges Leben” (My Real Life). He looks back at growing up in East Germany, his career as a quantum chemist, and the upheaval of German reunification – while also sharing personal stories from his time alongside Angela Merkel. The talk is part of the “Thalia x FAZ – Zukunft gestalten” series and will be moderated by Sandra Kegel. The FAZ journalist will guide the conversation on stage at the newspaper’s headquarters.
