For over three decades, Deva Premal and Miten have invited audiences to chant ancient Sanskrit mantras set to gentle, contemporary arrangements – warm acoustic guitar, soft keyboards, and Indian harmonium are the usual companions. What began in an Osho ashram has grown into a global community drawn to meditative singing. The format is disarmingly simple: Deva sings a line, the hall sings it back. No vocal training needed – the room becomes a choir. Her clear, flowing voice and Miten’s earthy presence and guitar work create a held space that moves between group chanting and stretches of silence. On this tour they are joined by Canadian producer and multi-instrumentalist Joby Baker and vocalist Lady Phyl, adding lush backing vocals and subtle electronic textures to the mix.
