Rhine in Flames St. Goar

Rhein in Flammen St. Goar turns the Rhine riverbank into a festival of lights over two days. The land programme kicks off on Friday evening with live bands on three stages, while Saturday daytime features brass orchestras from Rhineland-Palatinate. In the evening, around 50 illuminated passenger ships gather in the middle of the river, framed by Rheinfels and Katz castles and the legendary Loreley rock. Then the big fireworks display begins – launched precisely from mid‑river – reflecting off the water of the Romantic Rhine. After the fireworks, bands play on until midnight. You can enjoy just the land programme or book a spot on one of the festively decorated ships. Drinks and regional food are available from stalls. Parking in St. Goar is limited, so taking the train or the ferry is recommended. The ferry between St. Goar and St. Goarshausen runs until late at night, so visitors can experience both banks.
