About this event
Brazilian choreographer Ana Pi, now based in France, frames joy not as a fleeting feeling but as an alert, bodily practice in “Atomic Joy”. Eight young dancers from the Paris street- and club-dance scene channel the precision and heat of a dance battle, while Pi draws on transatlantic African-diaspora movement traditions in which memory and resistance are passed through the body across generations. Christophe Chassol’s original score drives a shifting flow of movement that balances technical sharpness with improvisational looseness. The result is less a spectacle than a communal ritual: the stage hums with an energy that is both combative and hopeful, collapsing the distance between political urgency and sheer physical exhilaration. On the second evening, the roughly 50-minute performance is followed by an audience talk with Ana Pi and the dancers.
