About this event
On stage at the Schauspiel Frankfurt, historian Jill Lepore presents her new work, 'The Government of Machines', in a live episode of the ZEIT podcast 'OK, America?'. Together with journalists Klaus Brinkbäumer and Rieke Havertz, she explores the current state of the United States and the global consequences of artificial intelligence for democracy, justice, and freedom. The conversation, conducted in both English and German, will be accompanied by readings of the German passages from the book by Anna Staab. A welcome address by Jonathan Beck, publisher of C.H. Beck, opens the evening. Attendees can expect an insightful, bilingual discussion that connects historical perspective with urgent questions about technology and power.
