The Musical Suitcase

About this event

Dominik Merscheid arrives with his famous musical suitcase, a travelling collection of oddball instruments and songs that weave stories out of curiosities and everyday mishaps. Merscheid is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and former clinic clown who writes clever, layered tunes that work for children and adults alike — his music has been heard on KIKA's SingAlarm and WDR's Maus-Radio, and won the LEOPOLD prize. The performance happens in the unseated Studio 1, so kids can settle on the floor close to the action while Merscheid invites the whole room to hum, clap and sing along. Expect a warm, relaxed afternoon rather than a polished stage show; parents often find themselves tapping a foot next to their children. The concert is part of the Mouson Mini Music series.
