About this event
The Nikolas Express and Christmas Market Express, organised by Frankfurt’s historical tram association, put festively decorated vintage trams on the rails during Advent. On 5 December St Nicholas himself rides along, handing out little surprises to children; the Museum Shop on Tour sets up aboard the tram that day with public-transport-related gifts. On the following two Sundays (6 and 13 December) the Christmas Market Express takes over: the lovingly adorned vintage cars run on regular routes, stopping at all stations. A valid RMV ticket is all you need to hop on and ride between Frankfurt’s Christmas markets. On 6 December the Museum Shop also visits the Modellbahnfreunde Riederwald e.V., where large model railway layouts are on display from 10 am to 5 pm – the Christmas Market Express tram will take you there. The whole programme has a strong neighbourhood feel and appeals to families, tram enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys a nostalgic spin through the city.
