This production by Jan-Christoph Gockel blends puppetry, live music, film, and documentary material to follow Jaroslav Hašek's iconic anti-war character across three wars. It incorporates Bertolt Brecht's 'Schweyk im zweiten Weltkrieg' with songs by Hanns Eisler, and a new part set in Bakhmut based on interviews with former Wagner mercenaries.
