Symphonic Rock in Concert

About this event

Rock music gets the orchestra treatment in this two-hour concert by the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt, a crossover orchestra that has backed the likes of Deep Purple, Peter Gabriel and Robbie Williams. A rock quartet and a trio of vocal soloists join the orchestra to deliver symphonic interpretations of crowd-pleasers such as Deep Purple’s ‘Highway Star’, Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’, Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’ and Joe Cocker’s ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’. The set also dips into Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Adele and Evanescence, blending orchestral grandeur with electric energy. The result is a rich, layered sound that fills the Alte Oper’s grand hall – rock anthems that already have scale, now given even greater dimensions.
