Expect an evening of adventurous and emotionally rich contemporary jazz with the Julius Gawlik Quartet. Berlin-based saxophonist and clarinettist Julius Gawlik is joined by longtime collaborators Evi Filippou on vibes and percussion, bassist Phil Donkin, and the sensational drummer Jim Black. The quartet moves fluidly through spacious rubato textures, loose swing, shuffling grooves, and densely woven free improvisation. In the cosy setting of Club Voltaire, you'll experience up close how deep mutual trust fuels bold musical exploration and a compelling, modern group sound.
