About this event
Hildegunn Øiseth is a jazz trumpeter from Kongsvinger, Norway, known for her deep exploration of musical connections between Nordic folk, South African traditional music, and Pakistani ragas. In her quartet, she pairs trumpet and the ancient goat horn (Bukkehorn) with a sensitive rhythm section of Espen Berg on piano, Magne Thormodsæter on bass, and Per Oddvar Johansen on drums, joined by special guest guitarist Nils-Olav Johansen. The result is a meditative yet dynamic set blending lyrical melodies, subtle electronics, and contemporary jazz improvisation. The concert supports the release of their album 'Garden On The Roof'.
