40 Years of Collaboration & Improvisation: usus at the Klingspor Museum

For 40 years, Uta Schneider and Ulrike Stoltz have worked together as the duo usus, turning collaboration itself into an artistic method. Their pieces sit at the intersection of artist books, drawing, installation and text, always guided by open-ended rules and improvisation rather than any fixed medium. The books on show are not mere catalogues but self-contained artworks that play with language, material and space. There is no formal programme or music, but the museum’s own Buchbar will be open from 6 to 9 pm, so you can browse with a drink in hand. Admission is free, and all proceeds from book sales go straight to the museum’s fund for acquiring young book art. The atmosphere is relaxed and sociable – a chance to discover a piece of Germany’s contemporary book-art scene in a friendly neighbourhood museum setting.
