In his second novel, Christoph Kramer moves away from the football pitch that made him famous and into the headspace of two very different characters. The story begins when Kramer, the narrator, meets Roman in a bookshop—a young man who pays with counted coins and whose past won't let him go. What follows is a search for a mysterious 'J' and a flight to the 'Wolkenberührpunkt', an old mast where Roman and his friend Steve once climbed to feel closer to the sky and shout their wishes into the world. The evening unfolds as a talk between Kramer and moderator Björn Jager, with the author reading passages from his work. Expect a calm, introspective atmosphere in the seated theatre hall, where the focus is on the prose and the conversation around it. The novel is written in German, and the reading will be in German.
