Caroline Wahl’s fourth novel, “1999 Meters Above the Sea”, follows Samara as she abandons her dreary city job, fails at finding herself by the sea, and reinvents herself under a new name in the luxurious winter resort of St. Moritz. It’s the perfect stage for a con artist pretending to be a successful artist – until a handsome man appears and threatens to unravel her story. In conversation with moderator Emily Grunert, Wahl explores the cracks between who we are and who we pretend to be.
