About this event

The Pardubická muzika brass band, led by Michal Chmelař of the Pardubice Conservatory, plays traditional folk songs from the area around Pardubice in the Czech Republic. This is the same region the famous Bronze Age vessel from Kladina comes from, which is the subject of the Archaeological Museum's current special exhibition. The same programme was also performed at the exhibition opening on 5 October. Expect an acoustic, live brass sound rather than a staged show: you sit and listen to regional melodies in an atmospheric historic setting. The evening is part of the Year of Czech Culture in German-speaking countries, organised because the Czech Republic is guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2026. The songs are Czech folk music, so it suits anyone curious about Central European traditions, whatever your language. The page does not give a price or duration, so check with the museum for details.
