About this event
Three wheelchair users and three roller-skaters share the stage in this joyous, mixed-abled dance performance. Choreographer Eng Kai Er, who returns to the Rhein-Main region where she trained, creates a world where wheels become tools for connection. Duets unfold like figure-skating pairs, with daring lifts and synchronised spins, while group scenes channel the chaos and camaraderie of a racetrack. Costumes by Meret Zürcher mix cycling jerseys with Motocross flair, and props range from suitcases on wheels to glittering pom-poms — the whole thing has the energy of a variety show that never loses its sense of play. Underneath the speed and spectacle, the piece quietly asks how we navigate tempo in our own lives, but it never lectures. Instead, it leans on the pleasure of movement at any pace. A live or recorded score by Markus Krochmann drives the rhythm. The show runs about an hour, and the Friday performance includes a post-show artist talk (Meet the Artists). On Saturday, a tactile tour at 5 pm and live German audio description make the performance accessible to blind and visually impaired audiences.
