The Städel Museum opens its doors for a night that fuses art, music and community. Feminist DJ collective GG VYBE, known for their empowering beats that champion solidarity, will deliver an exclusive live DJ set, responding musically to selected highlights from the Mary Magdalene exhibition and riffing on themes of femininity, spirituality and social roles. Between sets, short art talks (Kunstimpulse) offer crisp insights into the works on display, while creative workshops let you get hands-on. Drinks are available throughout the evening, and the whole thing unfolds in a relaxed, social atmosphere inside the exhibition galleries. The special exhibition itself, “Mary Magdalene. Sin. Pray. Love.”, is the first comprehensive show in the German-speaking world dedicated to this complex biblical figure. Spanning from the Middle Ages to the present, it brings together over 100 works – including major loans from international collections – and puts a strong spotlight on women artists such as Lavinia Fontana, Kiki Smith and Marlene Dumas, alongside masters like Dürer, Beckmann and LaChapelle. The evening is geared towards adults; it is not suitable for children under 12.
