About this event

This music seminar focuses on Brahms's Second Symphony – a work that, after the long, self-doubting struggle with his First Symphony, radiates a relaxed, pastoral cheerfulness. Musicologist Bjørn Woll, standing in for Ulrike Kienzle this time, opens the score, compares themes and plays musical examples to show how Brahms finds his own symphonic voice here. The event is aimed at curious concertgoers who want to delve deeper into the piece before experiencing the evening with the orchestra in the Great Hall.
