For this concert, Swedish Indie folk musician José González brings his fifth solo album "Against the Dying of the Light", released in March 2026. González spent parts of his youth in a hardcore band and also sang in a choir – influences that are audible in his clear, warm voice and precise fingerpicking. His songs are a study in reduction: mostly just voice and guitar, carried by calm, meditative melodies and lyrics that deal with scepticism towards technology, a personal resistance to exclusionary ideologies, and the questioning of uncritically held thought patterns. The performance is the third and final German date of the tour after Munich and Berlin, and takes place in the ZOOM Saal, where the club-like atmosphere underscores the intimate character of his music. Alongside new tracks, González will play older material – including his well-known cover of The Kniefe's "Heartbeats", which streams in the billions and reached platinum status in the UK. Those who expect a loud or hectic concert will be disappointed; this is a quiet evening for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in finely wrought guitar music and deeply personal songs.
