About this event
This is not a standard slideshow: Tim Etchells, co-founder of the celebrated performance collective Forced Entertainment, cracks open his personal image archive for an evening that sits somewhere between lecture, confession, and dishevelled anecdote. Photographs from rehearsals, private snapshots, and documentation of past works appear on screen, and Etchells responds to them on the spot — riffing, explaining, and reflecting on making art, memory, and how a life can be told. The hour moves without a fixed script; Etchells drifts from image to image, blending fragments of fiction with process notes and personal material. The result feels less like a formal talk and more like sitting in the studio with an artist who is thinking aloud, sorting through the mess of his digital photo library in search of the lesser-told stories. It is a seated, English-language performance that works whether you already know his theatre work or are encountering him for the first time. Expect something intimate, playful, and full of sideways insight into how a practice is built.
