Elijah Fox is a pianist and multi-instrumentalist whose improvised solo sets weave together jazz, impressionism, and psychedelic soul. His pieces emerge in the moment at the piano – sometimes fluid and cinematic, sometimes gently rhythmic with subtle electronic textures. Mentored early by Yusuf Salim, a pianist who once played with Charlie Parker, Fox studied at Oberlin Conservatory before moving into a career that spans viral original compositions, production for hip-hop and R&B artists, and touring as keyboardist for British drummer Yussef Dayes. His music feels like a daydream: long melodic arcs and soft, hazy harmonies that avoid upfront showiness. The evening at Kunstverein Familie Montez has a club-like intimacy.
