French saxophonist Céline Bonacina blends creole jazz with 80s fusion, driven by her virtuosic baritone sax. After classical music studies and time in Paris big bands, she lived for seven years on Réunion Island – her music still carries that European-African rhythmic mix. Her new album “Jump!” is a heartfelt nod to the fusion of the Brecker Brothers and Yellowjackets, full of colour, energy, and playful improvisation. Together with Julian Caetano (piano), Chris Jennings (bass), and Stéphane Galland (drums), she creates a joyful, open-air concert experience in the Palmengarten’s music pavilion. The show goes on regardless of the weather, so come early to find a good spot and enjoy an evening of vibrant melodies under the stars.
